At Unite Canberra Care, we connect with individuals who wish to remain active, interact with other people, or simply feel good going about their business. The goal of not all people is the same. There are individuals who would just desire to leave the house more frequently.
Other persons wish to have something different or gradually gain confidence. We don’t follow a fixed plan. Through our Canberra Community Care approach, everything is kept flexible so it fits into the person’s own pace.
Community access is a type of NDIS support that helps people spend time outside their home. It’s for those who may need some support while going out, whether that’s for social reasons or everyday tasks.
It can be something simple. A walk in a nearby park. Visiting a familiar place. Going to a small event. Even basic things like shopping. There’s no pressure to do too much. The idea is to make it feel normal and manageable. With Community Based Disability Care Canberra, the focus stays on keeping things easy to handle.
When someone starts going out regularly, even in small ways, the change becomes noticeable. It helps a little to communicate with people. The fact that one would be facing the open spaces would make it less awkward. Things gradually begin to come into place.
It also aids in the tediousness of spending all his or her time indoors. Individuals start to identify locations, develop routines, and can be more at ease about their day. We don’t push or rush. All that is done is at a pace that is comfortable to the individual.
